ST. JOSEPH —The Big Lots store at 1417 N Belt Highway in Saint Joseph is going to close as part of the company plan to close a number of locations across the country.
A final closing date for the St. Joseph store has not been announced, according to employees who took phone calls Tuesday. In addition to the St. Joe location, Big Lots is also closing their stores in Jefferson City, Independence in Missouri and in Salina, Kansas.

Twenty-one Big Lots locations in Missouri and six in Kansas are not on a list of those stores closing, according to the company web site.
