Northwest Missouri State women's basketball snap losing skid, defeat Newman Thursday

The Northwest Missouri State women's basketball team (4-6) picked up its first win of 2021 with a 57-47 victory over Newman at Bearcat Arena Thursday.

The Bearcats were without Kylie Coleman, who was injured in Tuesday's game against Emporia State.

Jaelyn Haggard led the Bearcats with 20 points on 6-of-11 shooting from 3-point land. Jillian Fleming had a career-high 12 points and was 5-for-5 from the free throw line.

The Bearcats stay home to take on Central Oklahoma on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
