WEBSTER COUNTY —Two teens died in an accident just after 9:30p.m. Thursday in Webster County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Mercury Mariner driven by a 17-year-old Rogersville girl was northbound on the median crossover of U.S. 60 toward Porter Crossing Road just east of Rogersville.
A westbound Kenworth semi struck the Mercury as the SUV began crossing westbound lanes of U.S. 60. After impact the SUV rolled and traveled off the road.
Two passengers identified as a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy both of Rogersville were pronounced dead at the scene. EMS transported the SUV driver to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. The semi 78-year-old semi driver from Monticello, Kentucky, was not injured. All four were properly restrained, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
