CALLAWAY COUNTY—A Missouri man died in an accident just after 7:30p.m. Wednesday in Callaway County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a Dixie Chopper Lawn Mower operated by George R. Ward, 64, Portland, Missouri, was northbound along the lake edge at 10970 Oak Lane in the city of Portland.
The mower began sliding downhill, overturned into the lake and the driver was trapped underneath.
Ward was pronounced dead and was transported to Maupin Funeral Home.
