STONE COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 8a.m. Saturday in Stone County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Jeep Wrangler driven by a 43-year-old Galena woman was southbound on Mccord Bend Road one mile north of McCord Bend. The vehicle crossed the center of the road. tThe driver overcorrected, the vehicle overturned and the driver was ejected.
The Stone County Coroner pronounced the driver dead at the scene and she was transported to Stump Funeral Home. The driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
