
KANSAS CITY—A Kansas City area man faced charges for a fatal stabbing over a sweatshirt the victim was wearing.
Trey C. Parker, 23, faces 2nd Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson.
According to court records, police were dispatched to a car wash in Independence on Sept. 19 and located the victim with a stab wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at a hospital.
Based on witness reports and surveillance footage, an argument started after a garage sale. Parker, who was friends with the victim were fighting about a sweatshirt, according to the probable cause statement. The victim was wearing a sweatshirt which belonged to Parker.
Parker stabbed the victim, and the victim entered the front passenger seat of a nearby vehicle, which drove away.
The defendant is being held on a $250,000 cash only bond.
