KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement investigating another homicide in Kansas City have identified the victim as 18-year-old Aaron Williams, according to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez.
Just before 6a.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to the 1300 block of E 89th on a reported Sound of Shots call, according to Gonzalez.
While officers were enroute an additional call for a shooting was reported at an apartment complex. When officers arrived to the area they were summoned to an apartment where an individual on scene stated a man, later identified as Williams, had been shot.
Officers entered the apartment and located Williams suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. They immediately began rendering medical aid until EMS arrived and transported him to an area hospital with life threatening injuries. Williams was declared deceased at the hospital as a result of his injuries.
It does appear the incident occurred outside in the roadway and did not occur inside of an apartment residence, according to Officer Gonzalez.
