BATES COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 2p.m. Monday in Bates County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2020 Mazda hatchback driven by Andrew Medina, 23, Hume, was westbound on Highway A at CR 7007.
The Mazda crossed the center line and struck a 2012 Jeep Cherokee driven by Mildred K. Bell, 77, Hume, head-on.
Medina was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Mullinax Funeral Home in Butler.
EMS transported Bell and one passenger in the Jeep Norann Brooks, 84, Hume to Research Medical Center. A second passenger in the Jeep Aricka P. Pryor, 18, Nevada, Mo., was transported to Nevada Medical Center. Medina was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
