CAMDEN COUNTY—Two people died in an accident just after 6p.m. Friday in Camden County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Chevy HHR driven by Ashley L. Dinkins, 24 , Camdenton, was southbound on MO 5 just north of Mt Horeb Road.
The SUV attempted to pass a 2013 Ford Edge driven by Samantha A. Lucas, 32, Falcon, and was struck by a northbound 2020 International semi driven by Joel D. Montgomery, 40, Birmingham, Alabama.
After impact two passengers in the SUV identified as 21-year-old Jasmine J. Champlain of Sunrise Beach and 26-year-old Christopher T. Trout of Lake Ozark were ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
Mercy EMS transported Dinkins, Lucas and a third passenger in the SUV Damion L. Croft, 27, Camdenton, to Lake Regional Hospital. Montgomery was not injured. Croft, Champlain and Trout were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.
