JACKSON ON COUNTY—On person died in an accident just after 2:30p.m. Wednesday in Jackson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2013 BMW X3 driven by a 28-year-old Independence, Mo. man was eastbound on Interstate 70 just west of Woods Chapel Road.
The car rear-ended a 2020 Volvo semi driven by a California man. The BMW driver was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to the medical examiner's office. The semi driver was not injured. The MSHP did not have complete seat belt usage details. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
