JACKSON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two men on drug charges after a traffic stop.
Just after 11p.m. Sept. 15, a sheriff’s deputy stopped a northbound passenger car on U.S. 75 near 162nd Road for a traffic infraction, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.
A Jackson County Sheriff K-9 was deployed during the traffic stop and alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.
Deputies located items believed to be drug contraband. The driver, Levi Eugene Eisenbarth, 32, of Soldier, was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on a requested charge of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He has previous convictions that include indecent liberties with a child and aggravated indecent solicitation of a child, according to the KBI Offender Registry.
The passenger in the vehicle, Randy Lee Hyatt Jr., 30, of Holton, was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on a requested charge of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
