JACKSON COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 6a.m. Thursday in Jackson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Nissan Rogue driven by Steven L. Guffey, 58, Sikiatook, Oklahoma, was westbound at 25102 E U.S. 24 Highway. The SUV traveled off the road and struck a drain culvert.
Fort Osage Fire transported Guffey to Centerpoint Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
