CALLAWAY COUNTY —Oner person died and four others were injured in an accident just before 1:30a.m. Sunday in Callaway County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer driven by Demont L. Webb, 19, Jefferson City, was southbound on U.S. 63 at County Road 399.
The SUV traveled off the right side of the road. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle returned to the road, slid sideways, struck the guard rail, rolled and came to a rest on its top in the median. Webb was pronounced dead at the scene.
EMS transported passengers Fiona E. Chanache, 18 and Devione J. Hallmon, 24, both of Jefferson City to University Hospital.
MU Air transported passenger Melissa Armichael, 19, Columbia, to University Hospital.
A private vehicle transported passenger Jassmine R Carter, 18, Jefferson City to SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital. She was the only occupant in the SUV wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
