CALLAWAY COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 2:30p.m. Tuesday in Callaway County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2001 Ford Expedition driven by a 68-year-old Holts Summit man was northbound on U.S. 63 just north of Renz Farm Road. The SUV rear-ended a 2019 Kenworth semi that had just entered the highway. After impact the SUV rotated counter clockwise and came to rest under the trailer of the semi.
The SUV driver was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Millard Family Chapel in Jefferson City. The 82-year-old semi driver was not injured. The SUV driver was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
