KANSAS CITY —Police in Kansas City are investigating another homicide after a victim injured in a shooting died.
Just before 2p.m. September 24, police were dispatched to the area of 31st and Prospect in Kansas City, Missouri to investigate a possible strong arm robbery, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino.
As officers arrived they discovered a victim suffering from wounds to his upper body. KCFD EMS responded and transported the victim to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
Assault Squad Detectives and Crime Scene personnel responded to the scene. They conducted an investigation and processed the scene for evidence.
Over the weekend, detectives were notified the victim died of his injuries. This is now being investigated as a homicide, and homicide detectives have taken over the case. There is no one in custody at this point.
Preliminary information revealed there was a physical altercation between two individuals near the intersection that led to the victim sustaining fatal injuries, according to DiMartino.
