KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement are investigating two Sunday morning homicides in Kansas City, Missouri.
Just before 1:30 AM, officers were dispatched to the 7900 block of Wornall on a medical nature unknown call, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino.
As officers arrived they were directed to the parking lot of a convenience store where they located a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. KCFD EMS arrived simultaneously and began life saving measures. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene.
This is being investigated as a homicide and no one is in custody at this point. Detectives are working to determine what led up to shots being fired.
Just after 3:30 AM, patrol officers responded to an ambulance in route call in the 4100 block of Jackson in Kansas City, Missouri.
As officers arrived they were directed to the driveway of a residence on Jackson. There they located a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began rendering aid and KCFD medics responded. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. A short time later the victim died at the hospital, according to DiMartino.
This is also being investigated as a homicide and no one is in custody at this point. Detectives are working to determine the circumstances that led up to the incident.
