PHELPS COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after midnight Tuesday in Phelps County.
The Missouri State Patrol reported a 2022 Freightliner semi driven by a 47-year-old Norman, Oklahoma, man was westbound on Interstate 44 near Sugar Tree Road. The semi struck a 55-year-old pedestrian from Merriam Woods, Missouri who was walking in the road. Another unknown semi then struck the pedestrian.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and was trasnsported to the county coroner. There were no other injuries reported.
