
KANSAS CITY —An investigation last week of a Kansas City homicide in the 3000 block of Harrison has resulted in charges being filed against a Kansas City man who was a suspect in a 2021 homicide, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.
Craig D. Moss Jr, 31, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges in the Oct. 16, 2021, fatal shooting of Andre Green.
According to court records, Kansas City police were dispatched to the 4500 block of Chestnut Avenue on a reported shooting on Oct. 16, 2021. Officers found the victim on a living room couch suffering from a gunshot wound.
Spent shell casings were found in the driveway of the residence. Witnesses told police that Moss had been at the residence. On Sept. 1, 2022, officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Harrison on a reported shooting. Moss was involved in the shooting. Spent 9 mm shell casings were located.
Police compared the shell casings from both 2021 and 2022 scenes. The crime lab advised that casings recovered from the 2021 scene were fired in the same firearm as casings recovered from the 2022 crime scene.
Defendant is being held on no bond.
