KANSAS CITY —Kansas City man faces charges in a fatal shooting that occurred near 71 Highway last week.

City cameras and dash camera footage captured the victim and a witness walking together near an intersection when a man, later identified as the Phillips exited a vehicle, approached them, and opened fire with an automatic rifle-style firearm.
Detectives used surveillance video and license plate readers to identify the Phillips as the shooter.
A Jackson County judge set the defendant’s bond to $250,000 cash only.
