Homicide: Police ID victim found in KC airport area hotel room

KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a homicide near Kansas City International Airport.

Just before 11:30 p.m. Monday, police were dispatched to a hotel in the 11800 block of NW Plaza Circle, according to Sheriff Daryl Forte'.

First responders found a man later identified as 38-year-old Jeremy Hills with gunshot wounds inside a room at the Orangewood Inn & Suites.

A second man, also suffering from gunshots, was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. A person of interest was taken into custody.  Police released no additional details.
