ALLEN COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 8a.m. Friday in Allen County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2001 Chevy Tahoe driven by Lorren L. Green, 80, Chanute, was northbound on 1150th Street ramp to U.S. 169 northbound three miles northeast of Chanute. The SUV traveled off the road to the left and rolled onto its top.
A passenger in the vehicle identified as Thalia K. Green, 76, Chanute, was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Contryside Funeral Home. EMS transported the driver to KU Medical Center. Thalia Green was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
