MACON COUNTY—A Missouri man died in an accident just before 3:30 Wednesday in Macon County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2016 Freightliner semi driven by Robert E. Ives, 58, Nevada, Mo., was eastbound on U.S. 36 two miles west of Callo.
The semi struck an eastbound 2018 Massey Furguson tractor driven by Nels Magnuson, 62, Callo.
After impact, both vehicles traveled off the road, struck a guardrail and overturned. Magnuson was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Macon County EMS transported Ives to Samaritan Hospital. He was properly restrained, according to the MSHP.
