
KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement are investigating a car accident that is now another homicide investigation in Kansas City
Just before 6:30p.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to report of an injury accident at Truman and Bennington in Kansas City, Missouri, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina.
First responders found a vehicle crashed into a pole there with significant damage. Officers and EMS located a man inside the vehicle with life threatening injuries. EMS transported him to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. During the course of administering medical treatment at the hospital medical personnel located what appeared to be gunshot injury to the man.
Ultimately medical personnel at the hospital declared the victim deceased from his injuries. Officers notified Homicide detectives who have now begun a homicide investigation.
Detectives are at the scene near the crash canvassing for witnesses and Crime Scene Investigators are processing the scene for evidence at this time. Detectives are hopeful to hear from or speak to someone who witnessed the crash or has any information about what led up to the crash.
There is not anyone in custody at this time and no suspect information to share at this point.
