BUTLER COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 12 midnight Monday morning in Butler County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Ford F150 driven by a 61-year-old Poplar Bluff man was backing the vehicle on Mo 53 three miles south of Poplar Bluff. The pickup struck a pedestrian identified as a 57-year-old Portageville man. After impact, the pedestrian struck a 2012 Chevy Silverado.
EMS transported Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital were he was pronounced dead. The Ford F150 driver was not wearing a seat belt and not injured, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
