Missouri is once again putting seasonal heat protections in place for utility customers.
“Missouri’s “Hot Weather Law” prevents electric shutoffs for nonpayment of bills when temperatures are forecast above 95 degrees, or the heat index exceeds 105 within 24 hours.
The protections remain in effect through September 30th to reduce heat-related risks. Missourians can learn more by contacting their utility provider or checking resources through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
