
SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash have identified the victim as 36-year-old Amber Kirk, according to Topeka Police Lt. Ron Ekis.
The Topeka Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating anyone who was in the area of the NW Topeka Boulevard and NW Paramore Street intersection in Topeka at the time of the incident.
Just before 6p.m. November 15, police responded to a hit-and-run injury accident call at the intersection of NW Topeka Boulevard and NW Paramore Streets in Topeka. The accident involved a vehicle and pedestrian.
The pedestrian, later identified as Kirk, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries where she died.
During investigation of this incident, police identified Sultan Y. Andemichael, 18, Topeka, as a suspect. Andemichael was located and transported to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on November 17. He remains jailed on requested charges of Involuntary manslaughter; Interference with LEO; Conceal/alter/destroy evidence in felony case and Failure to stop accident resulting in death.
