
KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement are investigating another homicide in Kansas City, Missouri.
Just after 11p.m. Monday, police on patrol in the area of 55th and Prospect heard the sound of gunshots to the south, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina.
Simultaneously 911 received calls for sounds of shots in the area of 58th and Wabash. Officers responded to investigate and received a 911 updated call of a shooting in front of a residence in the 5800 block of Wabash.
On arrival to that location officers located a male shooting victim unresponsive in the street in front of a residence there. Officers called for EMS who declared the victim deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was in front of the residence with one or more additional people when they heard the sound of gunshots nearby. They then realized the victim was struck by the gunfire. There is no information on suspect description and no one is in custody at this time.
