Northwest Missouri State University will honor the late Dean Hubbard Friday morning with a celebration of his life.
Hubbard died March 23rd at the age of 85.
Hubbard was Northwest’s longest-serving president, leading the university from 1984 to 2009.
A celebration of Hubbard’s life will begin at 10:30 Friday morning the 4th in the Mary Linn Auditorium at the Ron Huston Center for Performing Arts on the Maryville campus. Doors open at 9:30am. A slideshow begins at 10. The celebration is open to the public.
A private family luncheon is planned prior to a bell ringing ceremony at 1:30pm at the Bell of ’48. The campus landmark, donated by the class of 1948 and located south of the Administration Building, is rung to herald Northwest celebrations and to honor the passing of students, faculty and staff.
In lieu of flowers, the Hubbard family requests contributions to the Dean and Aleta Hubbard Scholarship at Northwest.
