MONTGOMERY COUNTY—A Kansas man died in an accident just before 3p.m. Tuesday in Montgomery County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 GMC Terrain driven by Robert S Deatherage, 70, Coffeyville, was eastbound on U.S. 160 at County Road 4500. The SUV traveled off the roadway to the right, struck a culvert, continued eastbound across County Road 4500, struck another embankment and rolled into the east ditch.
EMS transported Deatherage to Freeman Hospital in Joplin where he was pronounced deceased. He was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
