JASPER COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 2:30a.m. Saturday in Jasper County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2003 GMC Sierra driven by Ronnie D. Gillmore, 23, Reeds, was westbound on MO 96 one half mile east of Carthage.
The pickup crossed the center line and struck an eastbound 2022 Freightliner semi driven by Kevin W. Fields, 58, Marionville.
After impact Gillmore was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Fields was not injured. Gillmore was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
