
KANSAS CITY —Search crews recovered the body of the victim who drowned in Indian creek on Saturday, according to Kansas Fire Department Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.
The body surfaced just before 4;00 p.m. and was observed by an individual fishing in the creek. The KCFD and police were notified and responded. The body was recovered and turned over to the medical examiner. He was found within the original search area. The name of the victim has not been released.

Just before 7p.m. Saturday, Kansas City Fire Department rescue crews were dispatched to reports of a possible drowning in Indian Creek, near 103rd Street and State Line Road, according to Battalion Chief Riley Nolan.
On arrival, companies surveyed the scene, interviewed a witness, walked the banks, and set up on bridges above the creek for better viewpoints.
KCFD Rescue Companies began conducting a search in the creek, with "swimmers" and launched their Inflatable Rubber Boat (IRB). The KCFD Drone was deployed, along with a Human Remains Detection (HRD) dog , and the Missouri Highway Patrol to assist in the search efforts. ------
After no rescue or recovery at 11:54 p.m., the decision was made to resume the search on Sunday.
