A 28-year-old St. Joseph man faces several charges after allegedly injuring a St. Joseph police officer while fleeing in a vehicle from a fight with another man very early Tuesday morning.

Tyler Allan Armstrong has been charged with aggravated fleeing a stop, driving while intoxicated leading to physical injury, and third-degree assault.

St. Joseph police say officers responded to break up a fight in the 1000 block of Corby Street when Armstrong jumped in a car and fled the scene. Armstrong struck two patrol cars, injuring an officer in one of the cars. Officers pursued. The pursuit ended when Armstrong crashed into a parked car at 9th and Church where he was arrested.
