JOHNSON COUNTY —On July 4, 1986, Joyce Welch disappeared after leaving a bar in Old Town Lenexa.
Joyce, 39, was last seen at approximately 10:30 p.m. walking east from the area of Santa Fe Trail Drive and Pflumm Road. Early the next morning, her purse was found a few blocks away. In 1988, her remains were discovered in a Miami County, Kansas field. Her death is being investigated as a homicide.
