
HILLSBORO, Mo. (AP) — Police in eastern Missouri have arrested a man who was being sought for an attack with a machete and who had a previous conviction for firing a crossbow and assault rifle at an acquaintance.
Ted Treece, 31, of High Ridge was arrested Thursday evening, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. He was charged in at-large warrants Wednesday with first-degree assault and armed criminal action, the. He has no listed attorney.
Police have said Treece hit a man with a machete Tuesday inside a convenience store in House Springs. The victim was not badly injured.
Court records show Treece was convicted and placed on probation for firing a crossbow and an AR-15 rifle at an acquaintance he accused of damaging his car in 2018. The man suffered a hand injury.
Treece was accused last month of a probation violation. He also was charged in May with a domestic assault.
The arrest warrant says Treece is a persistent offender with four felony convictions.
