JEFFERSON COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 10:30p.m. Thursday in Jefferson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2012 GMC Sierra driven by Ahijah L Adams, 59, Topeka, was westbound on U.S. 24 just north of 5th and Phillips. The driver failed to negotiate a curve. The pickup traveled off the roadway to the left rolled and the driver was ejected.
Adams was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Frontier Forensics. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
