NE Kansas woman caught transporting meth

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on drug allegations.

Just before 10p.m. May 19, a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) deputy with the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 2700 block of SE Adams Street on a silver 2004 Buick LeSabre with a license plate that did not belong to that vehicle, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.

During the investigation, a K9 Unit was utilized and illegal narcotics were located.

Sara J. O’Brien, 46, of Hiawatha was arrested, booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges that include possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is not longer in custody, according to online jail records.
