Mo. man accused of DWI for crash that killed passenger

GREENE COUNTY—One person died in an accident and another was arrested just before 2a.m. Sunday in Greene  County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2020 BMW 3X driven by 18-year-old Benjamin C. Sugg of Springfield was eastbound on Route D two miles north of Rogersville.

The vehicle traveled off the road and overturned. A passenger identified as a 17-year-old Springfield boy was pronounced dead at the scene. A private vehicle transported a second passenger Jacob W. Zimmerman, 18,  Springfield, to Cox South. Sugg was not injured. The passengers were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.

Sugg was later arrested on requested charges of DWI resulting in the death of another, leaving the scene of a fatality crash and a minor visibly intoxicated, according to online jail records.
