JASPER COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 1p.m. Thursday in Jasper County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2012 Ford Escape driven by a 20-year-old Kirbyville woman was eastbound on MO 37 two miles south of Golden City.. The driver failed to yield at a stop sign and struck a northbound 2029 Ford Edge driven by an 82-year-old Golden City woman in a T-Bond collision.
The 82-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. EMS transported the 20-year-old driver and her 21-year-old male passenger to Mercy Hospital in Joplin. The 82-year-old and the 21-year-old were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
