1 injured after 5-vehicle crash that temporarily shut down I-70

COOPER COUNTY—One person was injured in a multi-vehicle crash just after 10a.m. Tuesday in Cooper County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported six vehicle were westbound on Interstate 70 over the Rocheport Bridge. Traffic was slowing ahead due to construction which restricted traffic to one lane.

An unknown vehicle swerved and braked abruptly in front of a 2011 GMC van driven by Tom E. Schipp, 37, Russelleville, Missouri, causing a chain reaction crash. All six vehicles came to rest blocking both west bound lanes.

Cooper County EMS transported the driver of a 2015 Ford F150 identified as Randall P. Jostes, 61, St. Charles, to University Hospital. There were no other injuries reported..

COOPER COUNTY —Interstate 70 westbound at the Rocheport Bridge was temporarily closed Tuesday afternoon while first responders worked a multi-vehicle crash injury crash.

One truck carrying 57 head of cattle was off loaded on the bridge and cows moved to stock trailers. One patient was extricated and transported, according to Boone County Fire.
