Missouri GOP Congressman Jason Smith, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee visited the prison in El Salvador holding deported Maryland man Abrego Garcia.
On his social media account, Smith wrote, “thanks to President Trump" the facility “now includes illegal immigrants who broke into our country and committed violent acts against Americans. It is unconscionable that Democrats in Congress are urging the release of more foreign criminals back into our country."
Smith serves Missouri's 8th Congressional District.
