WYANDOTTE COUNTY —Police took one individual into custody following a 5-hour standoff in Kansas City, Kansas.
Just after 11 p.m. Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Miami Avenue in Kansas City on a welfare concern of an adult male, according to a media releae from Kansas City, Kansas police.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with the man who threatened officers with a firearm before barricading himself inside the residence. Later in the morning, officers were able to take the suspect into custody without incident. Police have not released his name or possible charges.
This incident remains under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Bureau.
