JASPER COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 1p.m. Wednesday in Jasper County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2021 Freightliner trash truck driven by Kim L. Melvin, 56, Joplin, was eastbound on Route M nine miles west of Joplin.
The vehicle traveled partially off the right side of the road. The driver overcorrected, traveled off the left side of the road and overturned. Melvin was pronounced dead at the scene.
EMS transported a passenger Darrall W. Taylor, 65, Webb City, to Freeman West Hospital. Both were properly restrained, according to the MSHP.
