Father in Kan. Amber Alert abduction faces new charges

KANSAS CITY — The suspect arrested in the July 17, Amber Alert in Kansas is facing multiple charges and remains jailed in Wyandotte County.

 Just before 1:30 pm July 17, 2-year-old Jaxon Halley and his mother were forcibly taken at gunpoint by 39-year-old Darryl Livingston, Jr. during a domestic incident at their home, according to Kansas City, Kansas police.

Jaxon and his mother were driven into Missouri where the mother escaped from Livingston at around 3:28 p.m. However, Livingston kept the child and left in his Kia Forte.

Livingston reportedly made statements to the mother that he would kill her and the child. They were last seen near the intersection of Myer and Wyandotte in Kansas City, Missouri. At 8:06 p.m., law enforcement confirmed 2-year-old Jaxon was found safe in Missouri and officer took Livingston into custody.

According to online jail records Livingston faces charges that include Aggravated assault; Use of a deadly weapon; Aggravated endangering a child; Reckless situation to child <18; Knowing or reckless bodily harm to family member; Criminal threat; Cause terror, evacuation or disruption; Domestic battery; Criminal poss of firearm by felon; Felony/drug conv, firearm used in crime, Criminal restraint, Aggravated robbery and Aggravated intimidation of a witness/victim; Threat of force/violence
