After comprehensive review, the office Buchanan County Prosecuting Attorney Michelle Davidson is choosing not to prosecute Buchanan County Sheriff's Office following the death of a man in custody in May.
Marcus Alan Caldwell died after an altercation with deputies southwest of Rushville in late May, as reported here. The prosecuting attorney reviewed evidence of the incident, including body camera footage, witness statements, and forensics reports, and found that officers acted within the legal bounds of reasonable force. As a result, no charges will be filed, and the investigation is closed.
