CLAY COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 6a.m. Thursday in Clay County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Ford Fusion driven by a 47-year-old Maysville man was southbound at the intersection of U.S. 69 and Grove. The passenger side of the car struck a northbound 2023 Aprilia motorcycle driven by a 35-year-old Blue Springs man.
The motorcyclist was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
