
GREENE COUNTY—Two people drowned and another is unaccounted for after an incident June 14 at Sprinfield Lake Dam.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the four were on a kayak and two inflatable tubes and were swept over the Springfield Lake Dam. A 19-year-old and a 17-year-old both of Springfield, did not resurface. A 12-year-old Springfield girl was rescued from the water. The third occupant, identified as a 40-year-old Springfield woman is still missing.
All four were not wearing life jackets, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
