Police: Kan. man, woman accused of selling meth near a school

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspect on drug allegations.

On Thursday,  members of the Topeka Police Department Narcotics Unit served a search warrant in the 2800 Block SE Virginia Avenue related to an ongoing investigation, according to Police Lt. Ronnie Connell.

While conducting the search warrant, officers located methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and firearms.

As a result, Jason Smith, 47, and Rhiannon Dickens, 31, were transported to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of Distribution of methamphetamine within 1000’ of a school, Possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute within 1000’ of a school, Drug tax stamp, Unlawful to acquire proceeds from drug transaction and Possession of marijuana.

Smith also faces charges of Criminal possession of a weapon by a felon and Possession of stolen property and is being held on three arrest warrants, according to Connell.
