NEWTON COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 10:30a.m. Friday in Newton County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2018 Ford Ecosport driven by a 48-year-old Granby man was eastbound on U.S. 60 one mile west of Granby. The SUV traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
EMS transported a 57-year-old female passenger to Freeman Hospital in Neosho. A private vehicle transported the driver to Freeman Hospital. The passenger was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
