A winter weather advisory remains in effect in this region until 9 o’clock this morning.

The National Weather Service issued the advisory for all of northeastern Kansas, northwestern Missouri as well as in the southeastern portion of Nebraska and southwestern Iowa. The advisory includes the cities of Elwood, Wathena, Troy, Atchison, and Leavenworth…among others…in Kansas. And, St. Joseph, Maryville, Cameron, Plattsburg, and others in Missouri.

The Weather Service is only calling for one to two inches of snow, though reports indicate some areas already have that. Slow down and be careful on the morning commute.

The forecast for the region calls for snow to end after this morning with a high of 25. Cold this evening with a low of 16 under mostly cloudy skies. Sunny tomorrow with a high of 34.

The St. Joseph School District has cancelled in-person classes, switching to remote learning.

Savannah R-3 has cancelled in-person classes, using the AMI plan for continued learning from home today.
