People come up with new business ideas all the time, and the Small Business Development Center aims to help make those ideas into reality.
The center is run through Northwest Missouri State University and is housed in the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce
Assistant Provost at Northwest Missouri State University Jay Johnson says there are several centers around the state, and while the businesses they help might compete, the centers help each other
"Now I say that, of course there's always like well they've got this, they've got these resources, but it's not about that, they collaborate on things" Johnson tells host of the KFEQ Hotline Barry Birr.
Johnson credits director Rebecca Lobina for her work in helping provide people those resources.
"She offers everything from business plan creation, continuing education on developing your financial statements, projections, resourcing, the financing, finding funders, those types of things," Johnson explains.
